A first set of the very beginnings of basic Scottish Gaelic vocabulary, with English equivalents and grammar notes. Mostly nouns (especially food items, and a few basics like "girl", "boy", "dog", "cat"), the verbs "is" and "isn't", a few adjectives and pronouns, etc. This is mostly based on Duolingo Scottish Gaelic Unit 1, with a few words from Unit 2. Includes grammatical notes on the genitive, plural, comparative forms, and alternative spellings. While these are meaningless to the bare beginner, they may be helpful at later stages of learning when re-using these early stacks as vocabulary refresh.
