How to say Pinyin syllables for a beginner with a native language of English. I made this primarily to help myself, so apologies if you don't find it useful, but if you do then great :) It's organised by final rather than initial as I find initials to be mostly similar to English, but any differences will be included in the flashcard. It doesn't cover tones (though I may add this later). I would recommend having a pinyin chart with audio to supplement my descriptions. The answers have the closest English syllable equivalent, an example word or two, and then more detailed instructions on how to pronounce it. Disclaimer that I am not Chinese, and that I am entirely self taught - I do not claim to be an authority on Mandarin or Pinyin, but I am trying to make a resource that I find useful - no more, no less.
