Qualitative research
Research that falls in the naturalist paradigm.
Focuses on a relativism and emic approach to research. Is subjective. Qualitative research is inductive in nature and comprises of in-depth interviews, observations, and focus groups to collect data for analysis.
Quantitative research
Falls in the realism paradigm. Focuses on objective data, falls in the positivism paradigm draws its research from a realism ettic approach. Based on deductive reasoning, consists of statistics surveys control group randomized trials etc.
