Procedures When Written Threat Found On Board
GREEN Level if:
- Does not specify your flight number, route, aircraft, DEP/ARR,
- No high-profile passenger on board,
- Does not give specific reason or make demands
Written Threat On Board Levels
ALL:
- Request Police upon arrival,
- Call Duty Pilot and OCC after talking with Police,
- File ASR/CSR
GREEN:
- Continue normal operation,
- Prior disembarking advise police and hand over evidence,
AMBER:
- Continue or divert,
- Advise ATC with details,
- Don’t make any announcement regarding the threat
RED:
- Divert,
- Advise ATC with details,
- Follow ATC instructions and ground personnel,
- Monitor the onboard status,
- Consider PAN or MAYDAY,
- Pull CVR CB at the Shutdown Checklist
Verbal Threat From Passenger Security Threat Threshold
If the answers for all questions are NO, use disruptive passenger procedures:
- Is he threatening safety/security of the aircraft?
- Does he claim to have some sort of weapon or device?
- Does he appear credible, give plausible info or make specific demands?
- Has been non-disruptive during the flight?
If the answers to either question 1,2 or 3 is YES use the Security Procedure

Commander Authority For Safety
For the safety of the aircraft, persons and property carried on board:
- Commander may give commands for securing the safety,
- Any persons who does not obey such a lawful command shall be reported to the police after landing,

Securing Aircraft
In EU Member States within Critical Part:
- Security Check completed,
- External doors are closed,
- Holds are closed,
- Aircraft chocked
In Non-EU Member States or EU Without Critical Part:
- In addition to above, stairs are withdrawn/removed/retracted

Security Search
In addition to Security Check:
- Flight Deck (if left unattended),
- Cabin (between seats or seat and wall),
- Wheel Wells,
- External Panels and Hatches (if unauthorised tampering detected)
Must be accomplished when:
- Doubt of unauthorised person access to the aircraft,
- Aircraft arrives into a critical area from 3rd country (unless equivalent standards applied),
- Aircraft was accessible outside of the Critical Part and moved within
- Aircraft arrives into or departs from outside of Critical Part
