AND Logic
an output will ONLY be present when ALL inputs are present.
SELECTIVE AND LOGIC
An output will be present when at least “A” number of the total inputs “B” are present. Typically 2/3, 2/4, etc. There may be more than 4 inputs.
OR logic
AN OUTPUT WILL BE PRESENT WHEN ANY INPUT IS PRESENT.
NOT logic
An OUTPUT will be present ONLY when the input is NOT present
Analog AND logic
ANALOG OUTPUT “A” WILL REPRODUCE ANALOG INPUT “B” WHEN DIGITAL INPUT “C” IS PRESENT.
ONE Shot
WHEN AN INPUT IS PRESENT, AN OUTPUT IS PRODUCED FOR A DESIGNATED TIME AND THEN LOST.
Time Delay Logic
Memory Logic
When the “s” input is present, the output will be present and will remain after the “s” input is removed. When the “r” input is present, the output will be removed unless the “s” input is still present.
Memory Logic with Actuation Block
When the “l” input is present, the output will be present and will remain after the “l” input is removed. When the “r” input is present, the output will be removed even if the “l” input is still present. (“R” input blocks the presence of the actuation signal.)
Control Switch
When the input is present, the light will be on. E letter indicates color
B = blue
A = amber
R = red
G = green
W = white
DIGITAL MANUAL/ AUTO CONTROL STATION
Bubble = controller identification
D = setpoint controller (digital
T = transfer; auto/manual
↕ = Up/down pushbuttons
Main Plant Annunciator
Signal is hardwired to main plant annunciator & networked to the ics data
highway. Local annunciators do not show the hexagon.
Multiple Input Annunciator Window
An output will be present when any input is present with reflash capability for subsequent inputs. Each input networked to the ics data highway. Or-logic is computed by ics at annunciator.
Pneumatic Signal
Electrical Logic or Digital Signal
Electrical Analog Signal
3 WAY SOLENOID
When an input is present, the solenoid will energize. The solenoid is shown de-energized. The shaded port is closed to common port “c” and the unshaded port is open to common port “c” . The reverse is true when the solenoid is energized.
4 Way Solenoid
When an input is present, the solenoid will energize. Energized - port “p” is connected to port “a” and port “e” is connected to port “b”. De-energized - port “p” is connected to port “b” and port “e” is connected to port “a”.
3 Way Solenoid, Dual Coil
When an input is present to either solenoid, the solenoid will energize. When solenoid “s1” is energized, the shaded port opens to port “c” and the unshaded port closes to port “c”. The valve stays in this condition after “s1” is deenergized and until “s2” is energized.
Final Control Element

Comparator
Process variable is normally greater than the setpoint and the comparator energizes when the process variable reaches the setpoint.
Process variable is normally greater than the setpoint and the comparator de-energizes when the process variable reaches the setpoint.

Process variable is normally less than the setpoint and the comparator de-energizes when the process variable reaches the setpoint.
Process variable is normally less than the setpoint and the comparator energizes when the process variable reaches the setpoint.
