-Rather than using batteries, Bayliss powered a radio by winding a crank up for several seconds- used stored energy in a spring
-The radio was developed to help stop the spread of AIDS, through a programme of better education, using radio broadcasts
-He set up the Trevor Bayliss foundation- promote the activity of invention by encouraging and supporting inventors and engineers.
