-The COMMAND POST consists of the incident commander, anyone from command staff (Public info officer, Liaison officer, Safety officer) and should NOT be relocated, whenever possible (NOT an absolute)

Each commanding agency picks their own I.C and each I.C is on equal footing REGARDLESS of rank (For ex: A 4 star fire chief and Sgt for Nypd will have same rank if they are both incident commanders in a “unified” command element)

There are 4 places where a check in can occur. These 4 places are
1. Staging area
2. Incident command post
3. Intelligence/investigative SECTION post for investigative people ONLY!
4. Heli-base (Only during extraordinary circumstances)

Resources should check in with the resources unit at the staging area.
If the resources unit is not activated resources should check in with the staging area manager and the planning section CHIEF will perform “check in” function.
