1. Improved subscriber privacy - SUPI now encrypted; use of SUCI,
2. Stronger over-the-air encryption
3. Introduction of SEPP for roaming protection (SS7 and Diameter deprecated due to vulnerabilities)
4. SBA in core network enables ZT implementations
5. Improved DDoS resilience by detecting attacks at the edge (not sure how this works - is it because of the UPF being deployed at the edge? Open interfaces and security analytics in the ORAN interfaces enables quicker detection)
6. Network slicing - isolation of traffic; customized security policy
