Start at 120-150J, slowly increase shock energy until maximum is reached

How should oxygen devices be handled during defibrillation?

1. Oxygen masks and nasal cannulae should be removed and placed at least 1m away from chest
2. Ventilation bags connected to tracheal tubes and SGAs can remain connected or moved 1m away

What energies are used for internal defibrillation?

Answer 4

• 10-20J for biphasic shocks
• 20-40J for monophasic shocks
• Do not exceed 50J
