Small aneurisms < 5.5cm are preferralbly under surveillance:

If 3-4.4cm: annual USS monitoring
4.5 to 5.4 cm: every 3 months

What is considered a rapidly expanding AAA?

Answer 3

> 1 cm in 1 year(and usually >4cm)

Question 4

When should elective surgical repair of AAA be considered?

Answer 4

If

1. Rapidly exapanding (>4cm AND growing >1cm/ year)
2. > 5.5 cm
3. Symptomatic

(can be done open or endovascular)

If any of these options: Referral should hapen within 2WW pathway
