Q

FLS approach degraded NAV

If the FLS capability downgrades to F-APP RAW:

A
  • RNAV(GNSS) approaches aren’t to be conducted
  • flight crew can continue to use FLS provided that radio NAVAID raw data confirms that the lateral navigation is correct
  • cross check distances vs altitudes on jepp chart

Q

Management of degraded NAV for FLS RNAV(GNSS) approaches using LNAV or LNAV/VNAV minima:

A

Use the other A/P F/D if:
* GPS PRIMARY LOST on on ND
* NAV ACCUR DOWNGRAD on one ND

Discontinue the approach if:
* F-APP Capability is lost
* F-LOC deviation exceeds 1 dot
* Ecam: NAV FM/GPS POS DISAGREE

For LNAV/VNAV minima:
* discontinue if F-G/S devaition exceeds 1/2 dot below F-G/S beam

Q

EMER DESCENT

How can flight crew identify a depressurisation event:

A

1) A cabin altitude and rate that are excessive and not controllable
2) The triggering of CAB PR EXCESS CAB ALT
3) When all the oxygen masks drop in the cabin (triggered by independent trigger switch) (does not include partial masks dropping from mechanical failure)

Q

FAM 22

LAND ASAP red definition
LAND ASAP amber definition

A

RED - land as soon as possible at the nearest airport at which a safe landing can be made

AMBER - consider landing at the nearest CAT A, B, C that is forecast to be not below landing minima for the ETOU

Q

AEPM

What do you expect the cabin crew to do when an alert PA is made

A
  1. Stand by their exit
  2. Check outside the a/c
  3. Be ready to act
  4. Report non normal conditions: in the cabin and outside the aircraft, info should be relayed to the flight deck with only 1 x communication attempt
  5. Maintain control of pax
  6. Await CPT’s instruction (cancel, evac, rapid disembarkation)

Q

Overweight LDG

When can you land overweight?

A

The regs permit an overweight ldg if “an emergency exists”. Determination of emergency rests with PIC. Examples:
- Any malfunction that would render the a/c non airworthy
- Any condition or combinational of conditions (mechanical or otherwise) in which an expeditious landing would reduce exposure to additional problems which may result in a degrodation or compromise of safety
- Serious illness of crew or passengers which would require immediate medical attention
