What does it tell?
Acceleration tells how much an objects speed changes in one second.
Objects speeds up
When an object speeds up, its acceleration is in the direction of the motion.
Objects slow down
When an object slows down, its acceleration is opposite the direction of motion.
Free fall
Objects in free fall gain or lose 10m/s of speed every second.
Steady speed equation
When an object is moving at a steady speed v, it travels a distance given by d=vt.
At rest or speeds up equation
When an object starts at rest and speeds up, or when an object slows to a stop, the distance traveled is given by either d=1/2at^2 or d=v^2/2a.
