When must a 100 hour check take place
Every 12 months or 100 hours (whichever comes first)

A person may not operate an a/c unless a review of airworthiness for the a/c has been certified as completed within the past 365 days
Maintenance records
You must keep maintenance logbooks for the airframe and other parts of the a/c which have finite life. These records must be retained, if the a/c is in an accident the details must be recorded in the maintenance logbook

Tech log entering defects
Any defects found during the pre-flight inspection, in flight or after flight must be entered in the tech log by the PIC with the nature of the defect being entered as consciously as possible, this is entered into the second column of the tech log
Tech log clearing defects
The defects must be fixed and the a/c released to service before flight, the third column is where the details of the rectification of defects is entered. After rectification of a defect a release to service is required.
