• Fibrocartilage
• Midsaggital plane
• Inverterbral discs, pubic symphysis, manubrium (top of sternum) and body of sternum
• Limited movement

Synovial joint enclosed by a connective tissue capsule.

Ball and Socket
- Movement in three planes; flexion, extension, abduction, adduction and rotation e.g glenohumeral joint.

Saddle
- Movement in 2 planes; flexion, extension, abduction, adduction. E.g 1st carpometacarpal joint in the thumb.

Ellipsoid(condylar)

• Same as saddle but less mobile
• e.g wrist joint, atlanoto- occipital joint (between occipital condyles amd C1 (atlas))
