A benign and non-neoplastic reactive bone lesion filled with multiple blood-filled cavities; 75% in pts <20yo
What are the imaging and histiologic chracteristics of an aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC)?
1) Expansile, eccentric lesion “bubbly appearance”; usually metaphysis
2) fluid lines on MRI, CT
3) Blood filled spaces w/o endothelial lining; may have giant cells or spindle cells
What is the treatment for ABC (aneurysmal bone cyst)?
Curettage and bone grafting; fractures are treated non-op until healed
