The process involves recording the position of an object (normally a photograph) then a small incremental change is made and new position is recorded.

Advantages of Motion Capture

Disadvantages of Motion Capture
- It is expensive to set up and time consuming.
- Requires trained specialist and sometimes actors to replicate movements increasing costs.
- The process is complex and requires specialist software and can only recreate human abilities (restricted), huge amount of data created that needs to be processed.
Advantages of Stop Frame Animation
- Stop frame animation has a relatively low set up cost
- widely available, anyone with a phone/ camera can create a stop frame.

Disadvantages of Stop Frame
- Labour intensive and time consuming due to model making process and capture process of taking ever individual shot.
- Limited by quality of model and accuracy of movement.
- Requires specialist staff.
Advantages of Motion Tweening
- The benefits of this process is that it gives a smoother animation without the need to draw every frame, giving a quicker more cost effective animation,

- it can animate a number of frames very quickly.
- Excellent for 2D animations.
- Can be extended to 3D walkthroughs using fly through paths for cameras.
Disadvantages of Motion Tweening
- Expensive software required.
- Movement and quality is determined by the expertise of the animator.
