IV over an hour, ideally should be over 2hrs ahead of time.
SBE prophyalxis drug and dosage
Amoxicillin 2gms, P.O.
Ampicillin, 2gms, IV
If Penicillin allergic:
Ceftriaxone 1gm IV
Cefazolin 1 gm IV (not in pt hypersensitive to PCN)
Bacteriostatic medications
Bactericidals
Vancmycin dose
10-15 mg/kg over 60 min
1g mixed in 250ml saline
