They are issued by the International Valuation Standards Council.

Status in Australia

IVS are not legislation.

They are adopted in practice through:

API Professional Practice

Alignment with AASB / IFRS valuation concepts

Courts and tribunals may expect compliance where relevant.

👉 In compulsory acquisition work, IVS inform methodology, while statute governs compensation.
