Rovsing’s - palpatation on left = pain on right
Obturator sign - Internal hip rotation = pain (pelvic)
Iliopsoas - right hip extension = pain (retroceacal)
Two tests to perform on all people presenting with symptoms/signs of appendicitis
Urinalysis (UTI/renal colic)
Pregnancy test
Imaging for appendicitis
Only if unsure of diagnosis
AXR - non-specific [feacolith/ loss of psoas shadow]
US - thickened wall and diameter, free fluid
CT - thickened wall and diameter, free fluid, phlegmon/abscess
