Q

Why is it important to reduce the amount of applications and application versions in an application inventory?

A

Reduce support calls as different version may have bugs.

Makes patching easier as all versions will be the same.

Makes app testing smoother before Windows upgrades.

Less security risks and some applications/versions may have vulnerability issues

Less cost as removing applications can remove the need for a license

Q

What is supersedence on win32 apps? And what are the two options?

A

It allows you to update or replace the app

  1. Upgrade - new version of the app gets released - you then upload the new version on the supersedence section and it will update the app - keeps the old app installed
  2. Replace - This uninstalls the old application and installs the new one
