Explain the structure of the APTA organization
Starts at the component level which is made up of chapters, sections, and assemblies. Each chapter and section maintains a board of directors. These are elected. Every spring these directors get together for a 3-day meeting which is known as the house of delegates. This is the highest policy-making body of the association.
What is the student assembly?
Comprises all student members. The interests of PT and PTA students are represented by the Student Assembly Board of Directors.
How are the board of directors selected?
Appointed through nominations and elections. Serve for a 3 year term. Duties include passing policies and bylaws, along with the house of delegates.
What is the house of delegates?
Policy-making body, comprised of voting & non-voting chapter delegates
What is a Special Interest Group?
Each section has a range of 1-12 SIGs

Rule made by a company to control the actions of its members and/or the regulation of the organization’s affairs.
