Q

what is the purpose of the condenser air removal system?

A
  1. Removes air and non-condensable gases from the condenser to achieve initial operational vacuum requirements.
  2. Helps maintain vacuum during normal plant operation
  3. Provides the means for breaking condenser vacuum during plant shutdown
  4. Establish, adjust and remove nitrogen overpressure

Q

what is the purpose of the seal water circ pump?

A

Seal water circ pump takes a suction on the respective silencer and discharges to the water cooler.
Flow then goes through a flow switch (for pump permissives) to the mechanical air removal pump where it is used for cooling and seal water.
