- ’ there were lots of issues that prevented people from doing their jobs efficiently and these stemmed from poor management of the change ‘
*’ as time went on the changes that should have been implemented before the merger gradually got done and things did begin to improve, however it took years and in those years many experienced police officers left the police service disillusioned and unhappy. ‘ - Policies and procedures that had worked perfectly well for many years were changed to reflect what was being done down in the central belt of Scotland. It appeared that it was the Strathclyde way or the highway and sadly this was one of the predictions that the old Grampian chief constable Colin McKerracer had identified and this had a negative inlact on morale.
