Colchicine ( Inhibits release of chemotavtic factors and migration of leukocytes to the inflammed joints)
Corticosteroids- If only 1-2 joints are involved, intraarticular Triamcenolone can be given. Systemic steroids (Prednisone) given only when patient cannot tolerate NSAIDs/Colchicine or they are contraindicated (renal failure or peptic ulcer)

100 mg i.v. Hydrocortisone given immediately. Followed by 100-200 mg i.v. infusion over 4-8 hours.
