What is diffusion?

The spreading out of a gas or any substance in solution, this results in the movement of particles, it is from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower consentration

What are the rates of diffusion

Diffusion takes place quickly, however there is only a small difference in concentration between two areas, the net movement by diffusion will be quite slow
Net movement = particles moving in - particles moving out
