Wearing Ba
• Can have just one wearer if;
1/ they do not enter a structure.
2/ they are in view of nominated person
•EDBA only used for re entry or 2nd wear in exceptional circumstances
Comms
- If BA team sustained loss of comms with ECO then TL decide if withdraw.
- If comms & telemetry list BA team must withdraw to point where comms works. Landmark for repeaters.
- If unexpected or sustained comms failure with any team, then person responsible for ECP decide whether to commit ET. Any doubt then do it.
- ECO must notify person responsible for the ECP that a BA emergency exists before committing ET
- Transmit on channel 5 if leaky feeders in use.
Minimum Briefing Info
- where and how to enter risk area
- Team objectives and part in plan
- Any hazards
- Any limitations on wear duration.
Cable entanglement
IC or SC
1/ consider declaring FF emergency
2/ consider isolating electrical supplies
3/ commence accident investigation
Guidelines
- Recommended that laid by EDBA
- Only 1 main laid along any single route.
- Where practical not to be laid closer than 6m to one another
Bridgehead or forward BA entry control point must be sited in safe air with regard to following factors
1/ potential for incident to escalate
2/ availability of access and egress points
3/ BA team safety/welfare
4/ Availability of water supply
5/ Effective comms
6/ Level of supervision/ support needed for ECO
7/distance from access point to ECP

If out of site Stage 2 ECP.
Aerial and ladders
• if working from head
- ECB state location of wearer and that working alone.
Working with other agencies
If other agencies wearing BA then LFB manage BA control procedures.
Only LAS HART may be committed through LFB ECB. All other agencies must supply their own board.
Manual calculation only used when
- All unable to log on when starting BA ops
* ECB fails and no replacement avail. Clock must be working.
BA Sector
- Ensure briefing teams at least 5 mins before due to be committed.
- BA SC min tank SM
- Will have a BA sector assistant
- will be supported by crew of Pump and CU.
