16
Q

how do you test for starch?

A

add iodine and if it turns blue or black there is starch present

17
Q

draw the equation to photosynthesis

18
Q

what are gm foods and give the advantages and disadvantages

A

genetically modified food, is where you take the genes of one food and combine it with another crops dna, the advantage can be depending on hoe you modify it, but pests will not eat it, they can inrease their yield so less fertiliser is required and they can also be modified to have more nutrients and vitamins a disadvantage is that there will be less of other plants due to them being sampled and stuff

19
Q

name some examples of gm foods and how they are modified

A

bananas are rsistant to pests and slow down their ripening, tomatoes also have a slower ripening making them last longer, corn is resistant tocorn borer and has fish oils, golden rice has more vitamin a than regular, cotton resists to pests

20
Q

what is an organism

A

a living thing that has some sort of way to sustain itself and survive

21
Q

what is climate change?

A

climate change is a long term shift in the planets average temparature beause of green house gases being released (the temprature is increasing)

22
Q

what causes an increase in climate change and also what is one of the main green house gases released from burning fossil fuels

A

human activity such as deforestation and combustion of fossil fuels (coal oil and gas). and carbon dioxide

23
Q

what causes an increase in climate change and also what is one of the main green house gases released from burning fossil fuels

A

human activity such as deforestation and combustion of fossil fuels (coal oil and gas). and carbon dioxide

24
Q

what are some animals affected by climate change and how

A

turtles: there are more female turtles due to the gender depending on the temprature of the eggs.penguins:the heat melts the ice and they will have no platform to rest.koala:koalas mainly eat a certain type of leaf and when heat is applied the leafs nutrirnts that the koala needs gets stripped away.

25
what are the ethree elements mainly in fertiliser
nitrogwn phosphorus and potassium
26
how do you find an average?
add alk the numbers up and divide by the total of numbers or smthin
27
how do you find a percentage?
number divided by numbers added up then times by 100
28
how do you find a percentage?
number divided by numbers added up then times by 100
29
what is biological control?
when you use animals that are natural predators to try exterminate the pests
30
what are some advantages and diadvantages to biological control?
advantages is that it removes a specific type of pests not all of the biodiversity, and you wont have to deal with chemicals polluting the crops. disadvantage is that the predator can go out of control and may rapidly duplicate and become an infestation, also it doesnt work well in open spaces and the predators could carry diseases
