• Power supply becomes stable.
• Sends reset signal to CPU.
• CPU executes jump command. which the hardware signal points to

• Power on self test.
• Checks if BIOS is corrupted, processor, system memory, video display memory
• BIOS looks for OS
• Checks DVD, USB, Hard disk
• Checks boot sector containing master boot record showing how the hard disk is partitioned
