• Mother should have feeling of “let down” during feeds

• < 6 wet nappies daily
• < 7 feeds per day
• Sleeping through the night at < 6 weeks
• Jaundice
• Weight loss > 10% BW at end of first week

In terms of bowel motions, what is normal for a breastfed baby? A formula fed baby?

• Breastfed babies can poo infrequently (1/week) or very frequently (6-7/day). Basically anything is normal
• Formula-fed babies poo more regularly, about once per day
