The trachea carries air to and from the lungs. The trachea is made from rings of cartilage which keep it open.

We breathe through our nose. Hairs and mucus in the nose trap dirt particles and bacteria
Bronchi function
Each bronchus (plural bronchi) carries air between the trachea and the lung
Bronchioles function
The bronchi branch off into many tiny tubes called bronchioles. Bronchioles carry air to and from the air sacks called alveoli
Alveoli function
These are tiny air sacks where the exchange of gas takes place
