- Baby suffering after birth, baby growing because of control over parents being told what to do. Therefore, you suffer as a child and this suffering will continue throughout life.

- The root of suffering is desire
- All suffering is caused by desire especially the attachment to ego (self)
- Why do you want the Lexus? Because you want to look good and you want to show off

Goal: Nirvana
- Compared to Moksha
- The end of desire is the end of suffering. Nirvana is that state of non-craving.
- The goal is having no desire this state is Nirvana
- Non craving, non-desire
- There is a way out through nirvana
- Complete extinguishing desire “blowing out the flame(desire)

- Nirvana is achieved by following the 8 fold path prescribed by the Buddha
