Q

What is crystallisation

A

A separation technique used to obtain a soluble solid (solute) from its solution by evaporating the solvent to form crystals

6
Q

How does distillation work

A

By boiling the solution and then condensing the vapour back into a liquid by cooling it down.

7
Q

How does crystallisation work

A

By dissolving for example water, to create a solution. The solution is then cooled or allowed to evaporate slowly, so the dissolved substance forms solid crystals.

8
Q

How does filtration work

A

It separates an insoluble solid from a liquid (like sand from water) using filter paper in a funnel
