What is an internal caliper?
An instrument for measuring the internal width of a gap. Two metal pins are extended to touch the edges and the measurement is taken.
What is an external calliper?
An instrument used for measuring the width of an object. A metal arm can be slid along the body to touch the edges of the item and a measurement can be taken.
Disadvantages of an internal calliper?
Parallax error
Angle could be wrong
Arms are small so can only measure singular area.
