results in systolic dysfunction
Leads to biventricular CHF
complications include mitral and tricuspid valve regurgitation and arrhythmia
hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
Massive hypertrophhy of the left ventricle
due to genetic mutations in sarcomere proteins (most commonly AD)
decreased cardiac output=Diastolic dysfunction
sudden death due to ventricular arrhythmias; common cause of sudden death in young athletes
syncope with exercise
