Conditions for effective CAS

thoroughly trained personnel with well developed skills,
effective planning and integration,
effective command and control (C2),
air superiority (especially suppression of enemy air defenses),
target marking and/or acquisition,
streamlined and flexible procedures,
and appropriate ordnance.
Although not a requirement for CAS employment, favorable environmental conditions improve CAS effectiveness.
