Holy Days of Obligation
A. Galatians 4:9-11 1. As stated in Canon 1247 of the Code of Canon Law: "On… holy days of obligation, the faithful are obliged to participate in the Mass. Moreover they are to abstain from those works and affairs which hinder the worship to be rendered to God…. " 2. Mary, Mother of God Day, Ascension, Assumption of Mary, All Saints Day, Immaculate Conception, Christmas, Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday, Divine Mercy Sunday, Trinity Sunday, Corpus Christi, Sacred Heart of Jesus, Advent, and Lent. (These days must all be observed by Catholics.)

Purgatory
A. The concept that people need to be purged or purified of their sin before they go to heaven.in p B. This defies Jesus ’ power to forgive sins and also means that not everyone needs to be forgiven before they die. C. What a terrible and grievous lie. As disciples we know that if someone dies with their sins unforgiven that they have only hell to look forward to. (Matt 10:28)
