- Records an accurate chain of custody

- Numbered seals are initialed by the submitter when present or by the CRO person processing case
- A receipt is generated listing all items submitted for the case
- A seal number is registered in LIMS and is used to track the container and its contents
- Containers are put into a secure storage are until they are delivered to the appropriate section
- The scientist assigned to the case takes ownership
