What is the difference between BOC and BOT
BOC is bomb on coordinates. Aircraft may not actually see the target and the weapon is sent to a static location.
BOT is bomb on target. Requires the aircraft to see the target or the target location and can be sent to a static or dynamic target.
What is the advantage of BOC? What is the advantage of BOT?
BOC: Employing asset does not need to be tally with target, target can be attacked quickly
BOT: Can hit moving targets
What is the FLOT?
Forward Line of Troops = most forward positions of friendly forces
What is a FSCL?
Fire Support Coordination Line = established by the JFLCC to reduce fratricide risk. Interdiction operations short of the FSCL require check-in with TAGS (theater air ground system) for situation updates, friendly locations and deconfliction. Interdiction ops beyond the FSCL may still require deconfliction with TAGS through SOLE.
