What are the four divisions of prokaryotes ending in …cutes?
Gracilicutes, - Gram-negative cell walls- greatest # of prokaryotes characterized to date together with firmicutes.
Firmicutes- Gram-positive cell walls- greatest # of prokaryotes characterized to date together with gracilicutes.
Tenericutes- No cell wall
Mendosicutes- archaea- abnormal cell wall with no peptidoglycan in them.
Define: prokaryotic species
A collection of cells that share an overall pattern of traits. They should share 70-80% of their genes.
