Demotion & transfers
Demotion: not often used, is a disciplinary action taken against an employee that results in a reduction in pay, benefits, status, and privileges.
Transfers: a disciplinary action taken against an employee that results in moving the employee to another unit or division within the organization.
Progressive Discipline: selecting the appropriate corrective action to address discipline issues, supervisors should use the least severe disciplinary action they judge is necessary
