A substance is banned if it fits into one or more of following categories.
Also; Any substance which has the potential to mask a banned substance or is not approved for human use is automatically banned.

The two roles of WADA:
Protect athletes fundamental right to compete in a doping free environment and thus promote health, fairness and equality.
To ensure harmonised, co-ordinate anti-doing programs in regard to detection deterrence and prevention of doping.
