What is the general rule of the priority from the right?

Answer 1

This implies that every driver must give the right of way to a driver coming from the right.
This applies at a junction when:
-There are no authorized people.
-There are no traffic lights.
-There are no signs regulating priority.

It does not matter in which direction the driver of the right is going, or even if it slows downs or stops: still it has the priority.

What are the exceptions to the priority rule?

Answer 3

1. Cycle lane: cyclists can drive on when they are already on the cycle lane. Then the car is on the right and then the car going in the same direction. If the car coming from the right crosses first the cycle lane, then it can drive on.
2. At a pedestrian crossing: the driver coming from the right must give priority to the pedestrians, before crossing.
3. Coming from a prohibitive direction: The car coming from the right is in “contravia” you don’t have to give priority.
4. Tram: railway vehicles don’t have to give priority, but then the priority goes first for the tram, then the car coming from the right, and then the car going in the direction of the tram.

Can you overtake on a junction with the priority rule?

Answer 4

No. You cant overtake on the left motorized vehicles and animals carriage.
Only bicycles because they are not motorized vehicles.

In which situation there is no priority to go from the right?

Answer 5

1. Coming out of a path or a track (not an official road).
2. Exiting a private ramp or house.
3. Exiting a parking area.
4. When entering a roundabout.
   In these situations, the drivers coming from the right do NOT have priority.
