A
a line on the surface of a sphere that is defined by the intersection of a sphere and a plane such that the plane cuts through the center of a sphere. Longitudinal lines are great circles.

A
A circle that lies on a sphere. Latitudinal lines are small circles with the exception of the Equator which is a Great Circle.
