• “Butt Splice” - Ends of the two ropes are butted together

• Rope under 1” in diameter the strand tails must project at least 6 rope diameters beyond the last full tuck, or taper them and add two additional full tucks
• Ropes larger than 1” in diameter, tails must project at least 6”, or tapered and tucked two additional full tucks
