Stage 2: The Ethical
Being concerned by not only yourself, but also by others. Reflecting on your actions and taking responsibility for them. Choices are important; choosing between good and evil is important because it gives our lives meaning, not just being run by the decisions of others.
Stage 1: Aesthetic
Living life trying to be noticed by others and not reflecting back on your actions.
Stage 3: The Religious
Similar to ethical. Becoming conscious of sin. Realising that although you can follow a way of right moral living, you are imperfect in thought and intention.
