echolocation
Echolocation is the use of reflected sound waves to determine distances or to locate objects. Some animals, including bats and dolphins, use echolocation to navigate and find food.
ultrasound
Sound waves with frequencies above the normal human range of hearing are called ultrasound.
sonar
A system that uses reflected sound waves to detect and locate objects under water is called sonar.
sonogram
An ultrasound imaging device uses reflected waves to create a picture called a sonogram.
