T threat. This means any individual and act or anything that is likely to cause harm or have the potential to hinder place in the performance of their duties
E exposure. Exposure is managed including the potential for harm physical or otherwise to people or the security of places or things.
N Necessity. Necessity to intervene immediately is considered. Is there a neat and to be now, later, or not at all?
R Response. Any response is proportionate, and based on a considered assessment of the threat, exposure and necessity.
Their response to any given situation must be considered timely and proportionate.
Principles of command?
The purpose of the principles of command is to provide a foundation from which our commanders can perform their duties, BHO and response and have the freedom to respond to circumstances as they involve these principles are aimed at enabling our people to use their recent judgement and the operational experience to develop responses.
Unity of command and control?
They can be only one command and control structure at one time the controller/commander is responsible for the successful outcome of the operation and has the authority to control all place and other agency resources committed to the operation.
Span of command and control?
There is a limit for the number of people a commander can effectively command or manage the recommended span of controllers between 2 to 7 direct reports, depending on the complexity of the incident for operation.
Obligations of command?
A commander has responsibility for the immunity safety, the health and well-being of staff and the reputation of the New Zealand police. Commanders must always ensure that they behave lawfully, ethically, and professionally and in line with Our Values.
Command versus control?
When a controller is appointed, theyare in ‘controlof the incident. However, that controller can only command staff within their own agency. Although the controller does not command other agencies staff, they control the response.
What are the 3 Commander control functions?
Command. Operate vertically within an organisation.
Control. Refers to the responsibility for coordinating and directing the response to an incident. Coordination. Occurs when commander control is communicated to all response agencies.
What are the three levels of command?

CIMS provides a means of coordinating the efforts of different agencies as they work towards the common goal of responding to and stabilising and incident and protecting life, property and the environment.

What is an operation order?
An operation order is the format for a controller or commander to record a plan to convey to staff the outcome of the operation and how the operation is to be conducted it is also a directive on how set tasks are to be carried out.
