Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition’s 10 steps:
A
Learn about community (Spend time in place, with people, ask questions, attend events in community, read things)
Listen to community members (Interview key people, informal chat, joint local organizations, know the past, identify key leaders)
Bring people together to develop a shared vision (hold a community gathering with foods)
Assess community assets, ressources, needs, issues
Help community members to recognize and articulate areas of concern and their causes
Establich a vehicle for change
Develop an action plan
Implement the action plan (Fundraising, mobilization of partners and community members, further discussion, meetings, engagement of community: establish goals, objectives, roles and responsibilities, support,learn together))
Evaluate results of actions (research and feedback loops to support learning)
Reflect and regroup (have a look what was done, talk to each other)
