The Gold standard
Meeting the level of performance of the SPY. Right now it’s hitting the gold standard of 18% ROI annually.
Notes:
There are ways to do even better than hitting the gold standard with SPY
What many investors do when they’re new is they get caught up in the share price. The main thing you need to look at is the return or the percentage that is moving up. Because whatever amount of money that you put in, you want to at least be doing as good as ticker symbol SPYor VOO
Better than the gold standard:
SPMO. This one mirrors the S&P 500 stock, but it’s picking them out in particular for momentum. This means that the stocks that are running up fast and high are being kept in the portfolio, while reducing those that aren’t moving that fast. It prioritizes the top 100 of those 500.
Closing below an upward trendline means the price has decisively broken its established support, signaling weakening buyer strength, potential trend reversal (bearish signal), and often prompts traders to exit long positions to protect profits or enter short positions, especially if accompanied by high volume. It shows net demand has decreased, suggesting sellers are gaining control and the uptrend is likely over
** What it signifies:**
End of Uptrend: The upward trend, previously supported by buyers, is losing momentum.
Weakening Demand: The price drop shows fewer buyers are willing to purchase at higher prices, and selling pressure is increasing.
Bearish Breakout: It’s a classic technical signal that a downtrend might be starting or accelerating.
Support Failure: The trendline, acting as dynamic support, has failed, potentially turning into resistance.
How traders react:
Exit Longs: Traders holding long (buy) positions use this as a signal to sell and lock in profits.
Enter Shorts: Some traders will open new short (sell) positions, betting the price will fall further.
Confirmation: Traders look for confirmation, such as a strong closing price well below the line and increased trading volume, to validate the move.
In essence, a close below an uptrend line is a clear indication that the bullish sentiment has shifted, signaling a potential change in market direction.
