- am I telling anyone good things about myself when I don’t really need to?
Confess: Pride in my self-reliance
- am I praying and reading God’s word every single day?
- am I trying to do things using my own wisdom rather than continually seeking God’s?
- am I depending on anyone’s advice without making sure it’s in alignment with scripture?
Confess: Neglecting my responsibilities as a husband
- Have I spent time figuring out how to help / bring joy to Jessica this week?
- Have I been praying for Jessica?
- Does Jessica seem nervous or in disagreement with anything I’ve been doing lately?
Pride
Don’t go on long monologues when the other person that she’s clearly sitting there listening to me without responding very much
Especially about future possibilities or ideas that i’ve had that I think will impress them

Dealing with people like Tony Goodreau the quick and easy way rather than working on ways to show humility to them while still conveying to them important information
Sinful nature: Idolotry
- am I studying God’s word, praying, and reflecting on his glory every day, or being distracted by worldly idols?
Sinful nature: Hostility
- Has there recently been anyone lately who I wasn’t looking forward to being nice to because of something they did or said to me?
Sinful nature: Quarreling
- Have I been any extended discussions lately where I could clearly tell the other person was flustered, angry, or upset?
Sinful Nature: Jealousy, Envy
- Have I seen anyone who was successful around me and then got the feeling that I hoped their success would subside or thought of reasons why their success wasn’t all that great anyway?
Sinful Nature: Outbursts of Anger
- Have I recently found myself responding too quickly, harshly, or strongly when I disagree with someone, was annoyed by something, or felt like they were disrespecting me?
Sinful nature: Deceit
Would I be embarrassed if any of my recent conversations at work or at home were publicized to everyone I knew?
Pride: Have I been telling others how much time I spend in scripture / prayer?
This is likely due to pride
